The argument
Six pages
Six short pages, in the order of the books. Each one leads on to the volumes, the lectures and the sources where the case is set out.
I
The Hyksos and Avaris
Josephus already joined the Israelites to the Hyksos. On that reading, their expulsion from Avaris in the sixteenth century BC is the Exodus.
II
The king of Edessa
The gospel king is placed as King Izas of Edessa, in the Jewish Revolt of the sixties, rather than as a carpenter of the thirties.
III
Saul and Josephus
Saul, called Paul, is identified with the historian Flavius Josephus, so the gospel family can be set beside the histories.
IV
Arthur
After the Revolt, the king is sent into exile in Britain and remembered there as Arthur.
V
The ice ages
With Michael Palmer, in a 2016 paper in Geoscience Frontiers, dusty ice sheets rather than carbon dioxide are proposed as the main control on the ice ages.
VI
How the argument is made
Each book takes a person in scripture, moves that person onto a known event, and argues they are the same individual.
